Privacy notice
QTAI Cards is a digital business card service run by Quantum Task AI (“QTAI”, “we”), Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This notice explains what we collect when you use qtai-cards.netlify.app, why, where it is kept, and the choices you have. Questions: abhay@quantumtaskai.com.
1. What we collect
Your account
- Email address and name, used to sign you in and to identify your account.
- Password, if you set one. It is stored only as a salted hash; we cannot read it.
- Sign in with Google, if you use it: Google sends us your name, email address and a confirmation that the address is verified. We do not receive your Google password and we do not access your Google contacts, mail, calendar or files. Google's own handling of the sign-in is covered by Google's privacy policy.
Your card
Everything you type or upload to build your card: name and prefix, job title, company, phone and WhatsApp numbers, email, website, location, a short bio, links, showcase projects (text, links and pictures), your photo and your company logo, and your design choices. Your card page is public: anyone who has the link or scans your QR code can see it and save the contact file. If you choose a QR code that holds your contact details, those details are inside the code itself and can be read by any phone that scans it.
Contacts sent to you
Visitors to your card page can send you their details (name, phone, email, company, website, a note). These are stored for you, the card owner, under Contacts, and are not shown to anyone else. If you are a visitor sending your details, the card owner is the person who receives and keeps them; you can ask them to delete them.
Contact checks
Card owners can run checks on a contact they have received (for example whether an email address is valid, or public information about a company). Nothing is looked up automatically: a check runs only when the owner presses its button. Some checks send the contact's name, email address, phone number or website to a third-party provider to get an answer. Depending on which checks the owner runs and which providers the site's administrator has enabled, these can include Hunter, Apollo, People Data Labs, IPQualityScore, Google Places, GNews, the UK Companies House, OpenAlex and Gravatar, as well as a query to the mail server of the address being checked. Results may be incomplete or wrong; they are provided as leads for the owner to confirm, not as facts about a person.
Payments
Access to QTAI Cards is a one-time purchase paid through Ziina. Your card number and payment details are entered on Ziina's pages and handled by Ziina; we never see them. We keep a record of the payment reference, amount, date and status so that we can unlock your account and handle any refund.
Technical information
- Our hosting provider (Netlify) keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and to run the service.
- We use one cookie: the sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
- Your browser keeps a copy of your card and QR code on your device so that the full-screen QR page works without a connection, and keeps a visitor's copy of a card page they have opened so that “Save contact” works offline. This stays on the device.
2. Why we use it
To provide the service you signed up for: to build and show your card, to generate your QR codes, wallpapers and signatures, to deliver contacts sent to you, to run the checks you ask for, to process your purchase, to send you a password-reset email when you ask for one, and to keep the service secure. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Who else sees it
- Netlify hosts the site and stores its data.
- Google, if you sign in with Google.
- Ziina, for payments.
- Resend, which delivers password-reset emails (it receives the email address and the reset link).
- The check providers listed above, only for the specific details of a contact when the card owner runs a check.
- Anyone with your card link or QR code, for the content you chose to put on your public card.
Some of these providers are outside the UAE. We share only what each one needs to do its job.
4. How long we keep it
Your account, card, pictures and contacts are kept until you delete them. Deleting your account (under Account) removes your card, your photo, logo and showcase pictures, and the contacts sent to you. Payment records are kept for as long as accounting and tax rules require. Server logs are kept by the hosting provider for a short period.
5. Your choices and rights
- You can see and change everything on your card at any time, and export or delete the contacts you have received.
- You can delete your account yourself under Account.
- You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing abhay@quantumtaskai.com. We answer within 30 days.
- If someone has put your details on a card or in their contacts and you want them removed, contact that person first; if that fails, contact us.
6. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed; sessions use signed, HttpOnly cookies; provider keys and payment credentials are encrypted before they are stored and are never sent to a browser. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password or sign in with Google.
7. Children
QTAI Cards is for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
8. Changes
If we change this notice in a way that matters, we will show the new date at the top and, for significant changes, tell signed-in users in the app.
